Empower 20 million Africans to sustainably provide for themselves by 2032.

Education

Education is more than just classroom learning—it’s about enabling children to thrive amidst the broader challenges their communities face.

We are breaking down these barriers—one school, one child, one community at a time.

Our approach to Education programming in Africa

ForAfrika works to ensure that children in the most vulnerable communities have access to inclusive, quality education. Our programmes address socio-economic barriers like food insecurity and inadequate infrastructure, creating holistic, child-friendly environments that support students’ emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being. By integrating schools, communities, and local stakeholders, we make education a pathway to long-term success and resilience.vulnerable communities across Africa. Our efforts focus on delivering clean water where it is needed most—healthcare facilities, schools, ECD centres, communities, and refugee settlements—ensuring that children and families have the opportunity to thrive.

Key objectives of our Education programming

Education ForAfrika is transforming lives and empowering communities across Africa.

Healthier students

By integrating nutrition and healthcare into our programmes, we reduce illness and improve.

Empowered women and girls

With targeted interventions, more girls can enrol and stay in school, promoting gender equality and empowering future female leaders.

Improved academic outcomes

Access to quality education and trained teachers leads to higher literacy and numeracy rates among children.

Reduced inequalities

Inclusive education practices ensure that children with disabilities and those from marginalised groups receive equal opportunities to succeed.

Key interventions of our Education programming

Child-friendly schools

We create inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environments with improved infrastructure, WASH facilities, and disability-friendly spaces, prioritising the emotional and physical well-being of all learners.

School feeding and gardens

We combat food insecurity and improve nutrition with school feeding programmes and gardens, providing daily meals and teaching sustainable farming skills for long-term food security.

Early Childhood Development (ECD)

Our integrated ECD programmes include health screenings, nutrition support, safe water, hygiene practices, and pre-primary education to ensure holistic growth and cognitive development.

Teacher training

We focus on enhancing student outcomes by equipping teachers with evolving skills through continuous professional development in collaboration with teacher training colleges.
