Safeguarding
Safeguarding is ensuring appropriate policies, procedures and practices that ensure our staff, partners, volunteers, contractors and programmes do no harm to the communities we support.
Safeguarding includes protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. It ensures the protection of vulnerable children and adults, including people living with disabilities and people with diverse genders.
Our safeguarding policy applies to all stakeholders involved in the provision and receiving of humanitarian services, throughout the duration of assistance as well as post-disaster recovery and development.
ForAfrika’s underlying principles are of empowerment, partnership, prevention and protection, response and risk mitigation all the while ensuring a survivor-centred approach.
