Emergency response

Thousands flee conflict in Sudan

Assist us in providing food and shelter to thousands of people who have gathered in South Sudan’s Aweil North County after fleeing the conflict in Sudan.

Disaster overview

The fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) which broke out in Khartoum, Sudan on April 15 has caused considerable loss of life and displacement. Reports estimate that over 400 lives have been lost over the course of 10 days as tensions remain high

An estimated 2,955 households are in desperate need. We appeal to our donors to open their hearts and help us provide humanitarian assistance to those affected, most of whom are women and children.

Tarpaulins being provided for shelter

Aweil North, South Sudan

We are providing shelter while simultaneously working with 16 other humanitarian organisations to assess what the refugees will need in addition. We are raising funds for tarpaulins, as well as other anticipated needs such as food.

Your donation will help provide:

  • Emergency food including fortified rice
  • Shelter materials including blankets, mosquito nets and sleeping mats
  • Dignity Kits

The rainy season has started in South Sudan so this will compound the already serious humanitarian crisis. Please give generously.
